Yes. I have come to the same conclusion when I was younger. It was a struggle, but I came to tbe conclusion that tolerance has to end where intolerance begins.
Though much better than tolerance is respect.
Edit:
removed an astray "in" in front of the last "tol...". That was wrong and did not belong there.

Simple way to see the paradox : if with a democratic referendum the population ask to stop democracy and reject referendum, what do you do?
Answer: the democracy should have build-in tools to resist such attacks.
