한연지는 아시아와 유럽을 횡단하며 경계와 몰이해가 만들어낸 고정된 틀과 구획을 흔들고 해체하려는 시도로 몸과 안무를 쓰고 있다. 즉흥적 안무 구성과 뒤틀리고 촉각적인 관찰이 예술적 실천의 핵심이며, 복수의 사회-문화를 통과하는 작가로서 ‘주의’(attention), ‘번역-오해’(translating-misunderstanding), ‘관객성’(spectatorship)를 공동 및 개인 연구의 축으로 삼고 연구와 연습을 지속한다. 그는 무술, 무용, 시각, 문학에 걸쳐 넓게 흩어진 배경을 기반으로 신체성을 둘러싼 한 다학제 간의 연결을 모색한다. 그 시작으로 첫 개인작인 춤·시·꿈 3부작, ‹몽상가의 편지› (2021), ‹우물의 꿈› (2022), ‹편지는 없고› (2023)를 한국에서 제작 및 발표한 바 있다
한연지는 무용수이자, 퍼포머, 안무가로서 다수의 유럽 국가 및 한국, 싱가포르에서 70편 이상의 공연, 레지던시, 전시 작업에 참여했으며, 동료 작가들과 함께 예술 연구 및 협업 공연을 이어가고 있다. 2018년에 창립한 NNN Dance(바젤, 스위스)의 창립 및 핵심 멤버이자 FIM - Forum für Improvisation(바젤, 스위스)과 what’s a dance work(서울, 한국)의 운영진으로 활동 중이다.
Yeonji Han (she/they) is an independent dancer, choreographer and researcher traversing across Asia and Europe. Their artistic approach is centered by improvised choreography and tactile observation. At the core of their ongoing collective and individual research, their practice revolves around attention, translation-misunderstanding, and spectatorship, shaped by their experience as a transnational artist. Drawing on their dispersed backgrounds in martial arts, dance, visual media, and literature, Yeonji attempts to create transdisciplinary connections with a focus on physicality.
Since 2018, Yeonji has contributed to over 70 performances, residency programmes, and visual artworks in numerous European countries, South Korea and Singapore. They are actively engaged in ongoing artistic research and collaborative stagings with several artists, including Maya M. Carroll and Rosalind Crisp. Yeonji is the founder and core member of NNN Dance (Basel, CH) and a member of FIM - Forum für Improvisation(Basel, CH) and the alternative dance space, what's a dance work (Seoul, KR).
